Design is a critical part of custom vial packaging labels.
If the customer already has their own design, you can send your vector design file to us directly. The format of the design file can be AI, PSD, or PDF. After you receive the customer’s design file, our design team will help you reconfirm whether the file can be used.
Confirm whether the design is clear and whether there are any parts that need to be modified.
Creating a professional vial label design involves several key principles that ensure the label is not only functional but also adheres to industry standards and regulations. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you create a professional vial label:
1. Understand the Vial Labels Regulatory Requirements
Before starting the design, make sure you understand the legal and regulatory requirements for 10ml vial labels in your industry.
These may include:
- FDA/EMA regulations(for pharmaceutical products)
- ISO standards(for medical devices)
- Local health and safety laws
Ensure that you include all mandatory information such as:
- Product name, strength, and dosage
- Manufacturing details, including batch number and expiry date
- Warnings, contraindications, and storage instructions
- Barcodes, QR codes and/or NDC codes (for pharmaceuticals)
2. Choose the Right Dimensions
The size of the label depends on the vial itself. A vial typically has a small surface area, so the label must be legible and not overwhelming.
Ensure you have the correct measurements for the vial before starting the design.
3. Select a Color Scheme
Color plays an important role in readability and brand identity. When choosing a color scheme for your label:
- Legibility: Use high contrast between text and background. Dark text on a light background is ideal for readability.
- Branding: Choose colors that align with your brand identity, but avoid using too many colors. Stick to a primary color palette with a maximum of 2-3 colors.
- Safety: If the vial is for medication, use colors that are commonly associated with safety, such as blue for medical or pharmaceutical products.
4. Logo and Brand Name
Your logo should be clearly visible but not overwhelming. Place it in the top or top-left corner for easy identification.
- Brand name: Make sure the font is legible, and it stands out.
- Font choice: Choose clean, professional fonts.
5. Essential Information
The following elements should be easy to read and prominently displayed:
- Product Name: The name should be the most prominent text on the label. Make it large enough to be read easily.
- Drug Information: Include the strength, dosage, and quantity of the product.
- Instructions: Make dosage instructions, storage instructions, and any other critical information easy to find and read.
- Expiration Date: This is often required by regulatory bodies and should be placed near the bottom of the label, but still clearly visible.
- Batch Number and Manufacturing Information: Usually printed in small text at the bottom or along the side of the label.
7. Barcode and QR Code
Including a barcode is essential for inventory control and product identification. The NDC (National Drug Code) is required for pharmaceutical products in some countries like the U.S. The barcode should be placed in a location where it can be scanned easily.
You can put the QR code about the product, customers can scan the QR code to know the information of the product and the information of the company.
The QR code can also be made with the company’s web page message.
8. Final Steps
Once the label design is finalized, check it for errors in text, alignments, and compliance with regulatory standards. After that, you can send it for printing.
If the customer does not have a ready design, our company has the professional design team that can provide customers with free design services.
Customers can show us the vial label style you like. After confirming the style, you need to provide us with your logo, brand name, product name and product details. These allows us to save a lot of design time. We also have a large number of vial label designs that can be sent to customers as a reference for creating designs.
Once the design is completed, we will make final confirmation with the customer on all aspects of design and printing details before production. After confirming all customized vial label content, we will arrange production immediately.
